『 積み重ねること 』

■合格の秘訣

　

　私はこの度、白梅学園大学に公募制推薦で合格することができました。尚志高校入学時には、保育士という明確な夢を持っていましたが、実際に大学を決めたのは三年生の夏休みでした。

　この大学の受験を決意するまでは、私の中で様々な葛藤がありました。保育と言っても何十、何百という数の大学で学ぶことができますし、専門学校もあります。それは保育に限らず、他分野でも同じことが言えます。そのうえで私が大学選びで押えた点、また受験のために取組んだことを紹介します。

　私が特に重要視した点は学ぶ中身です。卒業時に取得できる資格が同じでも、その過程で得る学びは、大学によって異なります。例えば、教育学部は幼保から高等、大学まで幅広い分野が存在します。もし、幼保が学びたくも、小中等教育に力を入れている大学であれば、幼保の資格が取得できたとしても、深い学びを得られたかどうかは定かではないと思います。逆に、教育全般を考えている人ならば、幅広い分野を学べられる大学の方が良いかもしれません。実際に私は、この観点から複数ある候補の中から大学を絞りました。

　また他に、大学のオープンキャンパスには必ず参加していました。その中でも、大学の模擬授業を受けてほしいと思います。もちろん、訪問しただけでも十分情報を得られますが、模擬授業を受けることで、実際の授業内容や形態を実感することができます。受験で大切なのは、自分の実力もそうですが、いかに大学の事を知り、自分が何を学びたいのか理解していることだと私は考えています。

　公募制推薦では、面接、小論文、国語の基礎学力試験がありました。中でも小論文は大の苦手で、受験前日まで過去問や他大学の小論文を解いたりして、量をこなして慣れと質の向上を目指しました。同様に国語も、日々の授業で扱う教材や漢検のテキストを活用して、大学の出題傾向に合わせて勉強していました。何を行うにしても、「積み重ね」は大切だと思います。同じ事を繰り返すことも、物事を継続させることも辛く、大変かもしれませんが、諦めずやり遂げてほしいと思います。合格を手にする前もその後も、沢山の人が自分を支えてくれています。不安になったり悩んでいることがあったら、溜め込んだりせず、相談して下さい。そうした事の積み重ねは、自分自身の自信へと変わります。自信を持って前へ進んで下さい。応援しています。

■後輩へのメッセージ

　まだ自分の進路が見つからない人がいるかもしれません。ですが、見つかっていないからこそ、より可能性が広がっていることを忘れてはいけません。高校生活の三年間は、沢山の人と出会い様々な経験をします。それは必ず自分の糧となります。だからこそ、進路が明確になっている人もなっていない人も、挑戦する姿勢を持って下さい。限られた高校生活を有意義に過ごしてほしいと思います。そうして、より自分の可能性を広げて進路実現に向かって頑張って下さい。

' The path you take is your own: Seeking Encounter '

I was able to pass Shiraumegakuen University through an open application process. When I entered Shoshi High School, I had a clear dream of becoming a nursery teacher, but I didn't actually decide on a university until the summer break of my junior year.

　Before I decided to take the entrance examination for this university, I was in a lot of conflicts. There are dozens or hundreds of colleges and universities to study in childcare, and there are also vocational schools. The same can be said for other fields as well, not just childcare. In addition, here are some of the things I kept in mind when choosing a university and what I did to prepare for the exam.

　What I considered to be particularly important was the content of what you learn. Even if the qualifications you can obtain upon graduation are the same, what you learn in the process differs from university to university. For example, there is a wide range of disciplines in the School of Education, from childhood to higher education and university. If you want to study child care, but the university focuses on elementary and secondary education, you may not be sure that you will have gained a deep learning experience even if you are able to obtain a certificate in child care. On the other hand, if you're thinking about education in general, you might be better off at a university that allows you to learn a wide range of subjects. In fact, I have narrowed down my choices from several candidates in this regard.

　In addition, I always attended the open campuses of the universities. Among them, I would want you to take a mock class at the university. Of course, you can get enough information just by visiting, but by taking a mock class, you can get a real feel for the actual content and format of the classes. I believe that it is important to know how much you know about the university and understand what you want to learn, as well as your ability.

　In the open recommendation process, there was an interview, an essay, and a Japanese language basic skills test. I was especially bad at the essay, so I worked on it until the day before the exam, doing past papers and solving essays from other universities to get used to it and improve its quality. Similarly, for Japanese language, I studied the Japanese language according to the tendency of the university's examinations by using the textbooks for daily classes and the Chinese test. No matter what you do, I think it's important to build on each other. Repeating the same thing over and over again and keeping up with things may be hard and difficult, but I hope that you won't give up and just keep doing it. There are a lot of people supporting you both before and after you passed the exam. If you are worried or troubled, don't keep it all together; talk to them. The accumulation of such things will turn into your own confidence. Keep moving forward with confidence. I'm here to support you.

Some of you may not have found your path yet. But you should not forget that you have more possibilities because you haven't found one. During your three years in high school, you will meet a lot of people and experience a variety of things. It will definitely become your food. Therefore, whether you have a clear idea of what you want to do or not, you must be willing to take on challenges. I hope that you will make the most of your limited time in high school. In this way, expand your possibilities and work hard to realize your career path.
