■合格の秘訣

　私は、三年生になるまで自分の進路についてほとんど考えていませんでした。進学先が今後、自分の人生を大きく左右すると思うとなかなか決めることができず焦っていました。そのため、進路で悩んでいる方に伝えたいことを書きたいと思います。

　私は、高校に入学した時から医療職を目指していましたが、具体的には決めていませんでした。三年生に入りどのような職種があるのか調べてみたところ、視能訓練士に興味をもちました。しかし、両親に相談してみると「情報総合科で取得できる検定を活かせる仕事がいいんじゃない？」と言われ、どうしようと悩んでいました。そんな時、看護系を対象に開かれた「医療職を知ろう」という講話に参加し、改めて視能訓練士の仕事内容を詳しく聞くことができました。そこで私は、視能訓練士になりたいと強く思いました。

　それから両親と話し合いをし、六月から夏休みにかけて視能訓練士を学べる大学・専門学校のオープンキャンパスに積極的に参加しました。自分に一番合っている学校はどこか、良い意味で比べるためにもオープンキャンパスはすすんで参加したほうがいいです。

　また、苦手だった数学の勉強に力を入れ、何度も繰り返し問題を解くようにしていました。考査前は、分からないところをなくすように積極的に先生方に聞きに行き、教科書・ワーク・プリントを見落とすことなく覚えるまで勉強しました。

　まだ進路が決まっていない方、迷っている方が多いと思います。ですが焦らず自分の本当にしたいことは何かを悩み、考えがまとまったらボーッとしないですぐに行動に移してください。苦手教科の点数・偏差値を少しでも上げることやオープンキャンパスに参加するなどしてください。今、やるべきことをやれば合格につながると思います。たくさん悩んだ分だけ決まった時の自信につながります。自分の進路実現を目指し、頑張ってください。

■後輩へのメッセージ

　推薦を狙うなら、考査での評定はもちろん模試にも力を入れることが大切です。偏差値が足りず、推薦をもらえないこともあり得るので、模試は関係ない、めんどくさいと言わずに今からでも一回一回の模試を真剣に受けたほうが良いと思います。

　また、進路が決まらない時は一人で悩まず両親・先生方に相談してください。私自身、何度も先生に相談し、その度に親身になってアドバイスをいただいたおかげで、進路先を決めることができました。

　そして、オープンキャンパスには必ず参加してください。パンフレットでは分からないことが実際訪れてみることにより、校舎・授業・まわりの町並みなどを知ることができます。まだ進路が決まらない...と焦らず、じっくり志望校を選んでください。

　I hadn't thought much about my career path until my third year. I was in a hurry to make a decision because I thought that where I would go to school would greatly affect my life in the future. For this reason, I would like to write what I want to say to those who are worried about their career path.

　I had been aiming for a medical career since I entered high school, but I had not decided on a specific career. When I entered my third year of high school, I looked into what kind of jobs were available and became interested in becoming an optometrist. However, when I talked to my parents about it, they said, "Wouldn't it be better to get a job where you can use the certification you can get in the Information Technology Department? So I was wondering what to do. At that time, I attended a lecture called "Let's learn about the medical profession" held for nursing students, and I was able to learn more about the work of an optometrist. That's when I realized that I really wanted to become an optometrist.

　After that, I talked with my parents and actively participated in open campuses of universities and vocational schools where optometrists could study from June through the summer vacation. It was a good idea to participate in open campuses to compare in a positive sense which schools were the best fit for me.

　I also put a lot of effort into studying mathematics, which I was not very good at, and tried to solve problems over and over again. Before the exams, I actively went to the teachers to ask for help in order to eliminate the parts I didn't understand, and I studied until I had memorized all the textbooks, work, and handouts.

　I know that there are many people who have not yet decided on a career path or who are not sure about it. However, please don't be in a hurry, think about what you really want to do, and when you have a clear idea, don't dawdle, but take action immediately. Try to improve your score or deviation in your weakest subject, or attend an open campus. I believe that if you do what you need to do now, you will pass the entrance exam. The more you worry about, the more confident you will be when you make a decision. Please do your best to realize your career path.

Message

　If you are aiming for a recommendation, it is important to put a lot of effort into the mock exams as well as the grades in the examinations. It is possible that you may not get a recommendation due to a lack of deviation, so it is better to take each mock exam seriously even now instead of saying that mock exams are irrelevant or a hassle.

　Also, if you are having trouble deciding on a career path, don't worry about it alone. I myself consulted with my teachers many times, and thanks to their kind advice each time, I was able to decide where to go.

　Also, be sure to attend the open campus. By actually visiting the campus, you can get to know the school buildings, classes, and the surrounding townscape in a way that you can't from brochures. Don't be in a hurry because you haven't decided what you want to do yet. Please take your time to choose the school you want to attend.

会津大はご存じの通りコンピューターサイエンスに特化した単科大です。地方の小規模大と受け止められることも多いですが、コンピューターサイエンスに限れば1学年240人も学生がいるのは国内最大級です。

企業との共同研究も活発です。会津若松市が整備したIT企業の集積拠点「スマートシティAiCT（アイクト）」には現在国内外の27社が進出していますが、そのうち15社が会津大と共同研究などの連携実績があります。

ただ、学生の就職先の8割は首都圏で地元に残る学生は多くないのが現状。米国のシリコンバレーのように大学と地元経済が「生態系」と呼ばれる相乗効果を生むには時間がかかりそうです。

Smart City x University of Aizu

As you know, the University of Aizu is a single-department university specializing in computer science. The University of Aizu is often perceived as a small regional university, but as far as computer science is concerned, it is one of the largest universities in Japan with 240 students per year.

It is also active in joint research with companies. Currently, 27 companies from Japan and abroad are operating in the "Smart City AiCT," a cluster of IT companies established by the city of Aizu-Wakamatsu, and 15 of them have collaborated with the University of Aizu on joint research projects.

However, 80% of students find jobs in the Tokyo metropolitan area, and not many of them stay in their hometowns. It will take time for the university and the local economy to create a synergistic effect, an "ecosystem," as in Silicon Valley in the United States.

新卒採用で人事担当が嘆く｢就活生の質の劣化｣

売り手市場で低い意欲､内定辞退に憤る声も

　「いまどきの若者は...」という嘆きの中身はだいたい「ものを知らない」とか「マナーやルールを守れない」とか、若者だからこそのものであることが多いです。だからこそ冒険ができるし、失敗から学んで成長できるのも若者の良いところ。しかしここ数年、新卒（大学）採用の人事担当者は、学生に対して少し違う印象を持っているようです。HR総研：2021年卒＆2022年卒採用動向に関する調査」によると、「学生の労働意欲や向上心の希薄さや自己中心的な考え方」「学生の意欲低下、おとなしい性格の者が増加」「学生の質の低下。特に主体性やバイタリティの低下。そういう経験をして育ってきていない」などの声が多かったそうです。

　かつての若者への非難は、未熟さによる問題行動への批判が多かったものですが、現在の就活生に対しては、行動を起こさないおとなしさに不満を感じているようです。就活に限らず、やってみて振り返って改善して...というサイクルは、学習でも部活動でも進路活動でも同じ。何かを変えたければ、まずは行動することが大切です。

■合格の秘訣

皆さんの中には、行きたい大学・専門学校が自分のレベルでは少し難しいという方もいるでしょう。その方々に対して、中心に書かせていただきたいと思います。

私の学力は決して良くありません。そのため、ハフリス保健看護学院を第一希望にした際は、担任から「難しいね」と言われましこ。それが高校三年生の二者面談でした。学校の成績は良いもの偏差値が低いため先生は心配していました。私はどうしてもこの専門学校に行きたくて1年生のころから志願していました。しかし、一・ニ年生の時は受験を考えることなく、あっという間に過ぎていきました。そして、三年生になりやっと準備が始まりました。

私が受ける型は自己推薦入試でした。英語か数学の一方を選択し、小論文、面接の受験でした。私は数学を受けることで固め、ワークや先生に頂いたプリントを何回もやりました。また、小論文は一ヶ月前から毎日テーマを変え、担当の先生に添削をしていただきました。そして、学力と同時に不安だったのは面接でした。私の受ける学校は面接が独特でしたが、普通の面接の対策をしました。しかし、受験当日の日程の紙の持ち物のところに「おすすめしたい本」が書いてありました。そのため、自分なりにどんな面接なのかを想定し、こちらの対策もしました。周りの友達が受かっていく中で、ものすごくあせりました。自分が今受けようとしているところはレベルが高いから、落ちたらどうしようというあせりが押し寄せました。ただ私は、「頭の良い人達に勝つ」という強い意志だけはありました。その強い意志を支えに、受験勉強を頑張ることができました。

私が今回の受験で学んだことは、自分の意志をつらぬくということでした。どんな状況に直面しても、決して自分の意志を曲げないでください。自分の押しを負けずに勉強することで、合格した時の嬉しさが倍増します。これから受験をする皆さん、諦めずに自分の志をつらぬき頑張って下さい。応援しています。

■後輩へのメッセージ

私は合格した後の態度について伝えたいと思います。合格し嬉しい気持ちは分かります。しかし、合格をした後、教室でうるさくしたり、学校を休むことなどは間違っています。うかれる気持ちは分かりますが、周りの人はまだ受験があります。また、クラスの中にはニ、三月まで受験が続く人がいると思います。そのため、自分が合格をしたら、周りの人を応援してあげてください。先生から聞いた話ですが、合格した後、教室でうるさく友達と遊んでいた生徒がいたらしく、合格先の学校にうるさくしている姿が手紙で送られてしまい、その合格していた人は、合格取り消しになったそうです。せっかくつかんだ合格が一気に消えてしまいます。だから'-そ、合格後の態度には気をつけてもらいたいと思います。受験制度が厳しくなるので、学力は合格しても下げずに上げていくことをおすすめします。それではみなさん、頑張って下さい。応援しています。

' Persist in your will '

Some of you may think that the university or vocational school you want to go to is a little difficult for your level. I would like to write this article mainly for those people.

My academic ability is not very good. Therefore, when I made Hafris School of Health and Nursing my first choice, my homeroom teacher told me that it would be difficult. That was the second interview in my third year of high school. My grades were good, but my deviation score was low, so my teacher was worried. I really wanted to go to this vocational school, so I applied from my first year. However, I didn't think about the entrance exams during my first and second years, and they passed by in a blur. Then, in my third year, I finally started to prepare.

The type of entrance examination I took was the self-recommendation entrance examination. I had to choose either English or mathematics, and take an essay and interview. I decided to take the math exam and did the work and the handouts that my teacher gave me many times. I also changed the theme of my essay every day for a month before the exam and had my teacher correct it. At the same time, I was worried about my academic ability and the interview. The school I was applying to had a unique interview system, but I prepared for a normal interview. However, I found a book that I would like to recommend in the section of what to bring on the day of the exam. So I made my own assumptions about what kind of interview it would be like and prepared for this one as well. As my friends around me were getting accepted, I felt very panicked. The level of the company I was going to apply to was very high, so I was very anxious about what would happen if I failed. However, I had a strong will to beat the smartest people. With this strong will as my support, I was able to study hard for the exam.

What I learned from this exam was to persist in my will. No matter what situation you face, never bend your will. Studying hard and not letting your will get the better of you when you pass the exam. To those of you who are about to take the entrance exam, please do your best to persevere in your ambitions without giving up. I am rooting for you.

Message

I would like to tell you about your attitude after you passed the entrance exam.  I understand that you are happy to have passed the entrance exam. However, it is wrong to be noisy in the classroom or to miss school after passing the exam. I can understand why you are upset, but the people around you still have exams to take.  Also, some of the students in your class may have exams that will continue until February or March. Therefore, once you have passed the exam, please support the people around you. I heard from a teacher that there was a student who was playing noisily with his friends in the classroom after he passed the exam, and a letter was sent to the school where he was accepted.  The person who had passed the exam had to cancel his acceptance. So, I would like you to be careful about your attitude after passing the exam. The examination system will become stricter, so I recommend that you keep improving your academic skills even after passing the exam. So, good luck to everyone. I am rooting for you.
