The SDGs stand for Sustainable Development Goals, adopted and commissioned by the United Nations in 2015, and people all over the world share these goals as we move toward 2030. Today I would like to introduce the first of these goals, "End Poverty".

◎ As of 2017, 821 million people are undernourished.
◎ In developing countries, where most of the world's hungry people live, 12.9 percent of the population is undernourished.
◎ Almost half (45%) of the deaths of children under the age of five are due to malnutrition, with 3.1 million deaths annually.
◎ If women farmers had equal access to resources as men, the number of people suffering from hunger could be reduced by 150 million worldwide.

■合格の秘訣

私はこの度、法政大学法学部政治学科に進学させて頂くことになりました。

まず合格の秘訣は、「頑張ること」、それ以外には何もありません。しかし、ただ頑張るだけでは意味はありません。受験というのは結果がすべてです。そのため、結果に強くこだわって下さい。

では、具体的にどのように頑張ればいいのかというと、まずは大きな目標を決めます。僕の場合は、「法政大学に行く」と目標を設定しました。その次に小さな目標を決めます、僕の場合、「定期テストオール５を目指すこと」と、
「模試で偏差値60越えすること」を小さな目標にしました。

そして、これを実現するために詳細な計画を立てました。定期テストは二週間前からしっかりと勉強し、すべての内容を理解するようにしていました。模試の対策としてはまず、先生に過去問をもらい、それをひたすら解き、自分の苦手はどこなのかを徹底的に分析し、克服していきました。また、得意分野を一つつくる事にしました。自分は文系だっこので、暗記することに特化している日本史にターゲットをしぼって、自分の強みにしていきました。とにかく教科書を何度も何度も読み、一問一答を解きつづけました。そのおかけで、全国偏差値が７８になり、県内３位の成績を収めることが出来ました。そして、結果をしっかり出し、校内の指定校争いで勝ちとることができました。受験に向けて私は、時事問題を細かく分析し、頭に入れていきました。グループディスカッションとレポートが受験科目だったので、比較的に準備しやすく、受験は思い通りに進みました。

とにかく、本気になって指定校推薦の校内選考を勝ちとって下さい。人生かけて言い訳なしで頑張ってください。

■後輩へのメッセージ

進学というのは自分の人生です。どこの大学に行くかで将来が大きく変わります。人生を自分の思うように決めたいなら、勉強して下さい。人生100年時代といわれている中で、まだ私達は10代です。

だから、まだまだ先は長いです。でも、若いうちに自分の人生の道は決まっていきます。学歴が全てではないけど、学歴があった方が圧倒的に人生有利です。資本主義の日本で争いは避けれない事です。

その争いに負けないように頑張ってください。時間は平等にあります。弱い自分に負けないでください。常に向上心をもって貪欲に、追い求めてください。みんなの人生はみんな次第です。

I have decided to enter the Department of Political Science in the Faculty of Law at Hosei University.

First of all, the secret to passing the exam is to "work hard"; there is nothing else. However, there is no point in just trying to do your best. Examinations are all about results. Therefore, you have to be strongly focused on the result.

SDGsとは、持続可能な開発目標（Sustainable development Goals）の略で、2015年に国連で採択されて依頼、世界中の人々がこの目標を共有して2030年に向かって歩んでいます。今日はこの中の１つ目のゴール、「貧困をなくそう」を紹介します。

◎世界人口の約10％にあたる7億人以上が1日1.90ドル未満で生活する極度の貧困状態。
◎世界的に、25～34歳の年齢層で極度の貧困状態で暮らす人々は、男性100人につき女性122人。
◎１日1.90ドル未満で暮らす人々が多いのはサハラ以南アフリカ。
◎2018年時点で、世界人口の55％が社会保障を利用できていない。

単にお金を渡せばよいという考えは持続可能とは言い難いですよね。金融サービスを整えるのはもちろんですが、自然災害に見舞われたときの被害を小さくしたり、開発を進めるための協力を強化したりすることも長期的には必要です。

■合格の秘訣

　私の大きな分岐点は夏でした。夏のインターハイの結果で私の進路は大きく変わりました。

　私は正直、勉強より部活を頑張ってきました。ふつうの高校生は反対だと思います。しかし、私には大きな目標があり、それを成し遂げるには部活動に力を入れる必要がありました。そして、迎えた高校最後のインターハイ。目標には届きませんでしたが、尚志高校初となるベスト4になりました。

　この結果が、私の進路を大きく変えました。それまで考えていた大学よりも、良い大学を選択できるようになったのです。ただ無我夢中で目標に向かって頑張ってきた部活動が、私の進路を変えてくれたのです。

　私の受験の時期は早く、他の生徒よりも共に受験の準備をしました。私は一次審査に書類審査、二次審査に面接と小論文がありました。志望理由書では、ただ教科書通りに書くのではなく、自分の長所を強く書き、その大学、学部で何を学び、将来どういうふうになりたいかを明確に書きました。面接では基礎の部分を完璧にし、相手の質問に対してただ答えを言うのではなく、自分の考えを一つ加えて発言するようにしました。一番苦労したのは小論文で、ただの感想文になってしまうことが多く、根の部分から直すのが大変でした。多くの問題を解き頭の中にレパートリーを増やすことが大切だと思います。まずは、数をこなし、その後時間内にできるように何度も繰り返し問題を解いた方が良いと思います、それから、本を多く読んだ方が良いと思います。本を読むことにより、正しい言葉や漢字を学ぶことができ、小論文や面接に大きく役に立ちました。台本通りの自分ではなく素の自分を出すこと、先生の指示を待つのではなく、自分から行動していくことが合格の秘訣だと思います。

　私は、「結果」を出したから今の進路があります。三年間、部活動にかける思いは誰よりも強かったと思います。その結果が報われて良かったです。

■後輩へのメッセージ

　私はこの受験を通して、「目標を持つ」ということの大切さを知りました。目標がないまま努力しても意味がないし意図がない。だから、まず目標を決めた方が良いと思います。目標は大きくて良いと思います。正直、まだ自分も目標を達成できていません。しかし、その目標に向かってきたからこそ、進路も広がりました。目標を見失ってしまう時があると思います。その時支えてくれるのは、仲間と家族です。仲間がいたから共に頑張れたし、家族の応援があったから、乗り越えられたと思います。支えてくれている人達のためにも逃げてはいけません。自分の目標を達成するためにも、常に前を見て、少しずつ進んでください。
　最後に、目標を持って結果を出してください。応援しています。私も結果を出します。

　My major turning point was the summer. The results of the inter-high school in the summer changed my career path.

　To be honest, I have been working harder at club activities than studying. I think most high school students would disagree. But I had a big goal, and in order to achieve it, I had to work hard on my extracurricular activities. Then came the last interhigh school competition. Although we didn't reach our goal, we became the first Shoshi High School student to make it to the top four.

　This result changed my career path. I was able to choose a better university than I had been thinking about before. My club activities, which I had worked so hard to achieve, changed my path.

　My examinations came early, and we prepared for them together more than most students. I had a document review in the first round and an interview and essay in the second round. For the statement of reasons for applying, I didn't just follow the textbook, but I wrote a strong description of my strengths, what I would study at the university and faculty, and what I wanted to become in the future. I perfected the basics at the interview and tried to add one of my own ideas to the interview, instead of just answering the other person's questions. The hardest part was the essay, which often turned out to be just an impression, and it was hard to fix it from the root.
